Vasuki's impromptu reality show jam turns music video

Back in 2019, during his stint on Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7, composer Vasuki Vaibhav created Gira Gira within the confines of the set. With no instruments at hand, he and fellow contestants used everyday objects like buckets and furniture to build rhythm, giving the song its raw, organic charm.

Clips from the show were widely replayed, turning it into one of his most requested tracks. “Wherever I went, eight out of ten people would ask me when I would officially release Gira Gira. I had been performing it with my band at concerts and the response was amazing — that’s when I felt it deserved a video,” he says, explaining how the new version, featuring Mayuri Nataraja , came together.

The latest release retains the song’s essence while refining its sound. “Back then it was very raw. Now it’s been produced and slightly reworked,” he adds about the video, directed by Prakyath Narayan . Staying true to the emotional core, the visuals use dance to express Vasuki’s inner world. “I told the director I wanted the dancers to portray my feelings. He suggested a quirky romantic approach, and that’s what we went with,” he says.

Vasuki has more releases lined up, including Mansinda Yarunu Kettoralla , another fan favourite from his reality show days.
