Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway Toll Rates: The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway was recently inaugurated, and now the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway is also poised to open for the general public shortly. Its construction work is currently in its final stages, and once commissioned, travel between the two cities will become even more rapid. Built at a cost of approximately ₹3,700 crore, this 63-kilometer-long, 6-lane expressway will connect Amausi in Lucknow to Azad Chowk in Kanpur. Thanks to this expressway, the travel time will now be reduced to a mere 35 to 45 minutes.

What Will the Toll Rates Be?

The NHAI has established specific toll rates for various categories of vehicles utilizing this expressway, as follows:

Cars, Jeeps, and SUVs: ₹275 for a one-way trip; ₹415 for a return trip (valid within 24 hours).
Light Commercial Vehicles: ₹445 for a one-way trip; ₹670 for a return trip.
Buses and Trucks: ₹935 for a one-way trip; ₹1,405 for a return trip.
Heavy Construction Machinery (HCM): ₹1,020 for a one-way trip; ₹1,530 for a return trip.

Which Vehicles Will Not Be Permitted?

Please note that only four-wheeled vehicles and heavy vehicles will be allowed to ply on this expressway.
Conversely, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and smaller vehicles will not be permitted, ensuring that high-speed traffic remains safe and uninterrupted.

How Long Will the Journey Take?

Currently, the journey from Lucknow to Kanpur takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours to complete; however, following the completion of the new expressway, this distance will be covered in just 35 to 45 minutes. This will result in significant time savings for commuters. This expressway is going to prove extremely useful for the public. Significantly, the maximum speed limit for this expressway has been set at 120 kmph, which will be of immense benefit to daily commuters.
