One major thing fans missed this year was the ‘Bridesmaids’ reunion, from which only Covey was missing. To end the rumors, the actress took to social media to clarify what really happened, and she did so in a hilarious manner!

Wendi McLendon-Covey reveals why she did not attend the Oscars 2026 Taking to her social media handle, the actress revealed she was recovering from surgery, which is why she couldn't attend the grand celebration of films on Sunday.

However, the star hilariously clarified the news by posting a photo of herself lying in bed with a stretch band wrapped around her head for support. The actress added a witty caption that read, “I had a neck lift last week because I'm tired of looking like a melting candle. So I had to skip the Academy Awards. No drama. Everything is fine.”

The ladies were invited together on stage at the Academy Awards to present the Oscar for Best Original Score. Before announcing the winner of the prestigious award, the cast joked about the reunion. Kristen commented, “We are so happy to all be here together tonight. I cannot believe that it's been 15 years now. We are not good with numbers, but we figured it out backstage. That means we shot this movie in 1883.”

Byrne, who was nominated for her role in ‘If I Had Legs I’d Kick You’, also read a hilarious note that was supposedly written by fellow actor Leonardo DiCaprio, and said, “‘Rose, can you please stop looking at me? The eye contact is too much. I'm thinking of leaving. I'm very uncomfortable.’”

Bombarded with maid of honor duties, Walker has to deal with many responsibilities, including Helen, another bridesmaid with whom she did not get along.
