'Why'd you all leave to come here?': MAGA influencer Kaylee Campbell's remark supporting Trump's anti-India rant faces massive flak online
US President Donald Trump is known for his unfiltered speech. From social media rants to campaign rallies, he has made quite a few controversial statements etched in the history of what he has dubbed as the 'Golden Age of America'.
On Wednesday, Trump posted a 4-page screed, allegedly a transcript of remarks made by conservative podcast host Michael Savage that denounced the American constitutional right to citizenship for everyone born in the country.
"A baby here becomes an instant citizen, and then they bring the entire family in from China or India or some other hellhole on the planet," said a statement in the post made on Truth Social. It also accused Indian-Americans in the tech industry of deliberately not hiring white, native Americans as they practice systemic bias in employment and immigration systems, while also alleging that the Indian immigrants lacked English proficiency and calling them "gangsters with laptops."
The post has received major backlash online along with a response from the Indian foreign ministry, which called it "obviously uninformed, inappropriate & in poor taste."
However, MAGA fanatics and far-right conservatives have been showering the President's comment with praise and validation. Kaylee Campbell , a MAGA influencer known for her controversial anti-Indian stance recently took to X (formerly Twitter), to ask Indian immigrants why they leave their country if it isn't a hellhole.
"If India isn't a hellhole then why'd you all leave to come here?" she wrote.
Her post quickly gained traction on the app, inviting massive flak from users. "They came to the US because it's allowed by your system legally. Second you got the most skilled and qualified ones because your country demands them. And they actually provide their skills, talent and energy to keep your economy growing. You should be grateful for this," wrote one user on X.
"People migrate for better prospects—that’s true everywhere, not some gotcha about one country. And let’s be honest, reducing an entire country to a cheap insult says more about the speaker than the place," added another.
"Because you people are incompetent. If Indians and Chinese decide today to pack their bags and move back to their own countries your US and MAGA will collapse. Your education standards are so low that we come there to save you and your stupid country," one claimed.
"Less than 2% of Indians live outside of India, compared to ~7% Britons living outside UK and roughly 2.5% of Americans living outside the USA. So does that make them hellholes as well? The agenda to scrap birthright citizenship is valid but calling other nations hellholes is daft," explained another netizen.

Indian-origin Congressman Ami Bera , whose parents immigrated to the US legally, said the comment was "offensive, ignorant and beneath the dignity of the office he holds."
