According to the rules of the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, this scheme is only available to girls born in Delhi, whose families have lived in Delhi for at least three years, and whose family's annual income does not exceed ₹1.20 lakh. This means that if a girl is studying in Delhi but was born in another state or whose family is not a permanent resident of Delhi, she will not be eligible for this scheme. According to this scheme, only a maximum of two daughters per family can benefit from this scheme. However, some conditions are relaxed for daughters living in government or licensed daycare centers.

How much money is available under the Lakhpati Yojana?

Under the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, the government will deposit funds into the daughter's Aadhaar-linked account in different phases. ₹11,000 will be deposited into the account at the time of birth. After this, Rs. 5 will be deposited for passing Class 1, 6, 9, 10, and 12. An additional Rs. 20,000 will be provided for graduation or diploma completion. Overall, under this scheme, the government will deposit approximately Rs. 56,000 into daughters' accounts, which, including interest, will grow to over Rs. 1 lakh by the age of 21. This amount will be transferred directly to their accounts through DBT.
