3 Players Sunrisers Hyderabad Should Eye in IPL 2026 Auction

Newspoint

After an exciting IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad just couldn't meet the high expectations set for the 2025 season of this prestigious tournament. Led by Pat Cummins, the team boasted a dynamic batting lineup and a strong bowling attack, but they faced challenges with their overall team composition. This struggle ultimately led them to finish sixth in the points table. At one point, they even found themselves at the bottom, but a late surge helped them secure a more respectable position.

As they gear up for the next season, the team is keen to address some of the issues that plagued them last year. They've traded away Mohammed Shami and also let go of players like Wiaan Mulder and Abhinav Manohar. With INR 25.50 crore still available in their budget, they're definitely on the lookout for some big names in the upcoming auction.

David Miller

Sunrisers Hyderabad really needs a dynamic player to step up at number five or six. With Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Cummins already locked in as overseas starters, the fourth spot could go to someone like Henry or Miller. Last season, Hyderabad had a tough time closing out games, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see them bring in someone like Miller, who could create a powerful partnership with Klassen something SRH would definitely appreciate.

Ravi Bishnoi

Sunrisers Hyderabad might just go all out for Ravi Bishnoi. With the release of Rahul Chahar and Adam Zampa, they’re in dire need of a seasoned Indian spinner. Bishnoi is a perfect match for what they’re looking for, and it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see SRH and Chennai Super Kings battling it out for the 25-year-old. He’s already played 77 matches in the lucrative league, taking 72 wickets with an economy rate of 8.21. It’s worth noting that a bidding war could see Bishnoi fetching around 13-15 crore in the auction.

Matt Henry

Hyderabad is on the lookout for an overseas pacer to team up with Pat Cummins. They’re in need of someone who can make an impact with the new ball, especially after Shami’s exit, and Henry could be a fantastic fit. It’s worth mentioning that the 33-year-old has played 33 T20Is, taking 40 wickets with an economy rate of 8.33.
