Anthony Joshua is a man of his word after footage emerged of him dancing with the mums of his two close friends who died in a tragic car crash.

Just days after his knockout victory over Jake Paul back in December, 'AJ' was involved in a horrific car crash over in Nigeria. Sadly, the incident claimed the lives of his strength and conditioning coach Sina Ghami and personal trainer Latif “Latz” Ayodele.

Not long after the heartbreaking crash, the former two-time heavyweight world champion vowed to provide life-time support to the families of his two friends. The British star has seemingly fulfilled his promise after he attended a large gathering dedicated to mothers this past weekend.

The 36-year-old was filmed enjoying the emotional occasion on Mother's Day. One clip showed the heavyweight legend taking to the dance floor with the mums of his two friends who lost their lives in the crash last year. In a touching speech on the day of the party, Joshua said: “To come under one roof and celebrate our mothers, celebrate our brothers, celebrate those that are not with us, and celebrate those that are with us.

“Knowing that all of our fates will one day come, we just stay strong until that day. We pray for our transition and just to be great in the afterlife. And why I talk about that is because my heart’s for my bros right now, do you know what I mean?

“So, thank you again; why we’ve done this is obviously for my mum and our family, but also for Sina, Latz, Sina’s mum, and Latz’s mum. It’s all interconnected and I’m not making too much sense — I’m just speaking from my heart, basically. So thank you, mums, for giving me Latz and Sina for so many years and for looking over me, you know? I appreciate it a lot. Thank you very much.”

While Joshua is still recovering from the crash, he is now back in training and has been mooted to make a return to the ring later this summer. Dillian Whyte's name has been floated around these past few weeks, and should Joshua come away from his comeback unscathed, a potential fight with Tyson Fury awaits.

According to boxing journalist Gareth A Davies, both Fury and Joshua have agreed to meet in the ring. Speaking on

, Davies revealed that the fight is 'signed' before claiming it's been 'agreed'. "The Fury-Joshua fight is signed," he said. "Okay, it is signed in the background. I've got that on good authority."

Davies added that the all-British dust-up will be shown live on Netflix and will likely take place either 'late in the year' or 'next year'. "It's with the big money people. It'll be on Netflix." Davies added: "It's on the cards and it's going to happen."

Joshua's long-time promoter Eddie Hearn recently provided an update on the boxer's future. "Originally the plan with AJ was for him to fight in March and then fight Tyson Fury in August," Hearn told Boxing Scene. "He's not going to fight Tyson Fury next; he's going to come back, I believe, in late summer. Physically he's not yet in a position to return so I'm planning and he's just resting and preparing.

"I'm looking at options to get him back in the ring in July but we will only know if that's a real possibility when he returns to camp which will hopefully be in the next couple of weeks Every fight is dangerous coming off what he's been through. We are open to the Tyson Fury fight but more likely at the end of the year or early in 2027."
