BBC commentator slams Canadian Curling team's X-rated comment vs Team GB - 'Have a word'
BBC co-commentator Steve Cram believes Winter Olympic officials should speak tothe Canada curling team over their bad language. The Canadians were pitted against Team GB in the latest round of round robin fixtures.
Brad Jacobs' team have been in the headlines for the wrong reasons throughout the competition in Milan and Cortina. The BBC had to apologise after Canada third Marc Kennedy found himself in a foul-mouthed argument with Swedish player Oskar Eriksson. Kennedy was also accused of double-touching his stone throughout his nation's victory over Sweden, prompting World Canada to issue a statement about the rules. However, the BBC commentary team found themselves condemning the Canadians' language again.

When both teams went to a break, the Canadians could be heard swearing amongst each other, prompting tuts and frustration from Cram and lead commentator Logan Gray.
After one member of the Canadian team was heard saying "every f***ing time* after they secured a point, Gray said: "Excuse me' with an exhale of annoyance. Cram, who also has a history of commentating on athletics, said: "They have to have a word with these Canadians."
At the time, Canada had just taken a 3-1 lead after the third end. It was a vital throw, as Mouat's team had two scoring stones, but Jacobs' side made use of the hammer by drawing in a point.

While not on television and within the ear shot of microphones, Mouat's team would have been the ones cursing before their match against Canada. He led Team GB to the Olympic silver medal in the 2022 games, but a close defeat to Norway left them on the brink of elimination.
GB lost 8-6 in their last round robin match to leave their hopes of reaching the semi-final in doubt. They need a victory over Canada and the USA, who they face tomorrow afternoon, to secure their place in Thursday's semi-final.
If results elsewhere do not go against them, then the five victories Mouat's team have already secured may be enough to get through to Thursday.
After the match, lead Hammy McMillan said: "We need to win our next two to make sure we're definitely in the semis. We're doing a lot of the right things, we just need to find that extra inch."
