The win was far from straightforward. AJ Lee made a surprise appearance at ringside, distracted Lynch during the closing sequence. Lynch had confronted referee Jessika Carr over a disputed call, prompting Lee's intervention. This momentary diversion allowed Dupri to capitalize and secure the pinfall. The crowd at Madison Square Garden reacted with a mix of shock and boos, marking Dupri's first singles title in WWE .

Becky Lynch threatens legal action over Women’s Intercontinental ChampionshipAfter the match, Becky Lynch expressed visible frustration in the ring, shoving the referee and staring down Lee as Dupri celebrated with her title. The real twist came the following day on social media. Lynch posted on X from her account @BeckyLynchWWE, directly challenging the match's validity.

That lawsuit threat came after Triple H congratulated her on social media with the caption, “Winning your first title from a multi-time world champion at the World’s Most Famous Arena…doesn’t get bigger than that. This is the @TheGarden. Congratulations @maxxinedupri!"

To which Becky Lynch replied, “Three letters: NML. No. Managers. License. In the state of New York that is governed by the state athletic commission, a managers license must be attained for interfering parties to be allowed at ringside. Therefore, hence, vis a vis, the outcome of this title match, which has been clearly rigged, is hereby under protest. You will be hearing from my lawyer imminently. The changing of the side plates will result in a lawsuit.". Lynch argued that Lee's unlicensed presence rendered the interference illegal under state regulations.

AJ Lee’s interference may have been within the chaos of RAW , but Lynch is pointing out technicalities that could shake up how future matches are regulated. It’s fascinating to watch a superstar push back so publicly, and it makes Maxxine Dupri’s victory feel even more high-stakes.
