BREAKING: Wolves sack Vitor Pereira just weeks after handing manager new contract
Wolverhampton Wanderers have dismissed manager Vitor Pereira with the team rooted to the foot of the Premier League table. A 3-0 defeat away at Fulham was the final straw, with the result leaving Wolves on just two points from 10 matches.
Pereira made nine changes from the team eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Chelsea in midweek but was unable to inspire a victory at Craven Cottage. Wolves played more than half the game a man down after Emmanuel Agbadou's 36th minute red card, but were already 1-0 down at the time, with Harry Wilson adding to Ryan Sessegnon's early opener before a Yerson Mosquera own goal completed the rout.
In mid-September, Pereira was rewarded with a new contract despite a slow start to the season. He had led his team out of relegation danger in style, but his only wins since the summer sale of Matheus Cunha have come in the cup.

Saturday's defeat leaves Wolves eight points from Premier League safety. Their only points this term have come from 1-1 draws away at Tottenham and at home to Brighton, conceding late equalisers in both.
