Bryan Mbeumo likened to Mohamed Salah after latest Man Utd goal vs Tottenham
Bryan Mbeumo has been likened to Mohamed Salah following his latest goal for Manchester United. The summer signing from Brentford opened the scoring in United's dramatic 2-2 draw with Tottenham on Saturday.
Mbeumo bagged his fifth goal in as many appearances against Spursand his sixth in 12 appearances since joining the Red Devils for £71million. The Cameroon international is Ruben Amorim's top goalscorer so far this season and is earning plenty of plaudits from former Premier League players as a result of his fine form.
Peter Crouch and Owen Hargreaves are the latest ex-pros quick to point out that the United star is capable of more than scoring goals. Former Liverpool forward Crouch believes he's been a big signal of intent from United. "I've been impressed with him for a number of years now," he said on TNT Sport.
"At Brentford, he was a killer, he is a danger, he's sharp with his touches. Today he played right in front of us, and he's so sharp. When he gets a chance, invariably, he finishes, he's cold in front of goal, and he's been such a big addition to what Manchester United are trying to do."

Hargreaves, formerly of Manchester United, went a step further and compared his style to Liverpool star Salah. The Egyptian has bagged 188 goals in 298 Premier League outings for the Reds.
Hargreaves reckons the ability Mbeumo has shown to not be daunted by the demands of Old Trafford is impressive. "I think his biggest attribute is that he gives quality," he said.
"He reminds me a little bit of Mo Salah in and around the box. When he gets it, he has a clear picture of exactly what he wants. He almost shows no emotion, business in and around the box.
"You can play into his feet, he can dribble. Technically, I don't think he gets enough credit.
"People talk about his goal-scoring, rightly so, but he's an exceptional football player. People come to Manchester United, huge names, and struggle with pressure. He just sits there super calm, super chill, top scorer this season."
Mbeumo was pleased to see his team continue their unbeaten run. United have not lost since defeat to Brentford in September.
"I think it brings confidence when we don't lose," Mbeumo said. "It's easier on the pitch, outside of the pitch, on the training ground, everybody is enjoying it a lot."
