Arsenal and Bukayo Saka have agreed a bumper contract extension after he entered the final 18 months of his current deal. The Athletic reports that new and improved terms, effective until the summer of 2031, are in the process of being finalised.

Saka's existing agreement with the Gunners is due to expire at the end of next season. The winger last extended his stay in north London two-and-a-half years ago at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Saka is just the latest Arsenal player to agree a new deal. Ethan Nwaneri, Gabriel Magalhaes, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and William Saliba have also recently committed their futures to the club.

Those four are all contracted until at least 2029. So too are summer signings Cristhian Mosquera, Eberechi Eze, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres, plus Riccardo Calafiori.

Piero Hincapie is also due to be, should Arsenal fulfil the conditions of their obligation to buy the Ecuador international from Bayer Leverkusen this summer. His and Saka's signing would make it 12 players under contract until 2029 or beyond.

The winger was the most pressing concern among players who are only on the books until 2027. The others are Christian Norgaard, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Arsenal will also be keen to secure long-term deals for Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber. The appointment of Andrea Berta as sporting director has led to a recent surge in new deals.

Rice and Timber are among eight players whose deals run until 2028. Ben White, David Raya, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Kai Havertz are the other six.
