De'Von Achane injury update: Will Dolphins RB play in Week 15?

Newspoint
The Miami Dolphins have received a much-needed boost ahead of their crucial Week 15 clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with head coach Mike McDaniel confirming that star running back De’Von Achane is expected to play on Monday night. The 24-year-old exited last week’s win over the New York Jets due to a rib injury, sparking concern among fans as Miami continues a late push to remain relevant in the AFC playoff race.

Will De'Von Achane play in Week 15?
Achane left the field late in the first half against the Jets after landing awkwardly on the football during a tackle. Although he did not return for the remainder of the game, McDaniel insisted that the decision was precautionary and that the running back could have re-entered the contest in an “emergency scenario”.

His availability comes as a major relief for Miami, which enters Week 15 with a 6-7 record and little margin for error. With the Steelers also fighting for playoff positioning, the Monday night matchup carries significant weight for both sides.

Achane is currently enjoying the best season of his young career. Across 13 games, he has amassed 1,126 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, averaging an impressive 5.8 yards per carry. He has also been a vital receiving option, contributing 383 yards and four touchdowns through the air.

Against the Steelers, Achane’s return could prove particularly valuable. Pittsburgh is dealing with multiple injuries to its defensive line, including Cameron Heyward and Keeanu Benton, and has struggled to contain the run in recent weeks.

Nevertheless, with their star running back expected to be back in uniform, the Dolphins will hope to extend their winning streak and keep their faint playoff hopes alive. Monday night may not decide their season outright, but Achane’s return ensures Miami will enter the contest at full strength when it matters most.
