'Easy to write people off…': R Ashwin hails Prasidh Krishna's comeback carnage
Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin praised pacer Prasidh Krishna 's performance in the third ODI between India and South Africa at Visakhapatnam. Krishna's four-wicket haul (4/66) helped restrict South Africa to 270 runs, despite his previous expensive spell in the second ODI where he conceded 85 runs in 8.2 overs.
Krishna's impressive bowling display included crucial wickets of Matthew Breetzke, Aiden Markram , Quinton de Kock , and Ottneil Baartman. Although he initially gave away 27 runs in his first two overs, he bounced back strongly to make significant breakthroughs.

"Prasidh showing the quality he possesses, it's always easy to write people off when they have bad days, but given a good run, quality will always shine through. Once he gets a better understanding of his awareness, run up tempo and triggers, he will start delivering more consistently at this level. Kuldeep excellent too," Ashwin wrote on social media platform X.
Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan also expressed his support for Krishna through social media. "This is exactly Why i was backing Prasidh Krishna to play. He has that X factor. 3 crucial wickets. Well done," Pathan posted on X.
Krishna's spell proved crucial in the match as he dismissed Breetzke (24) in the 29th over, followed by Markram (1) in the same over. He later claimed the important wicket of centurion Quinton de Kock (106).
The performance marked a strong comeback for Krishna, who had struggled in the previous match where India lost to South Africa by four wickets while defending a target of 359.
Krishna finished the innings for India by taking the final wicket of tail-ender Baartman, completing his four-wicket haul and demonstrating his potential as a pace bowler at the international level.
