A video from the second timeout went viral, showing captain Hardik Pandya speaking to Tilak. People began to speculate that Pandya was angry, speaking aggressively.

Hardik Pandya himself revealed what he said to Tilak Varma. He said he told Tilak not to overthink or worry, but to just look at the ball and hit it hard. This is Tilak Varma's first IPL century. He became the joint fastest batsman to score a century for the Mumbai Indians.
