"It was difficult to find my identity": LeBron James' wife Savannah James opens up about losing herself in motherhood during her early years as a mom
LeBron James ’ wife, Savannah James , has maintained a pretty private life throughout the years. While LeBron James keeps his family away from the spotlight, the NBA legend has always been pretty comfortable with his popularity. But it seems parenthood had really affected Savannah James at one point in her life, despite being private about it.

A few months ago, in May 2025, LeBron James’ wife opened up about struggling with finding her own identity on her popular podcast , Everybody’s Crazy.
Savannah James spoke to her co-host April McDaniel as she said, “With the boys especially, it was really hard for me to find identity outside of being a mom…”
Savannah James added, “I felt like that is where my identity was supposed to be so I just kind of put all of the eggs into that basket.”
However, it seems with their sons growing up, LeBron James’ wife, Savannah James’ life has become much more easier.
Savannah James continued, “With Bronny going away to college and Bryce being right there as a junior in high school and Zhuri is now nine years old…I don’t feel like I have to be a helicopter mom per se.”
The popular mother of three added, “And I’m able to go out and just act on my passions and to put my foot out into new things that interest me.”

LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers’ star player, has often credited his wife for her sacrifices and taking up responsibility at home, so that he could focus on his NBA career.
Today, over two decades of being together, LeBron James and his wife, Savannah James, live lavish lives in Los Angeles as they spend their time travelling and raising their three children.
Both of them have also been pretty active in supporting their oldest son, Bronny James, in his NBA career even after the family has received a lot of criticism as fans have related his success to LeBron James’ “influence” in the league.
