Lamine Yamal 'diagnosed with incurable condition' in huge Barcelona blow
Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal is suffering from a chronic issue called Pubalgia, it has been revealed. The teenager has endured an injury-disrupted season so far with the Catalan giants.
He has missed five games, while he was also seen grimacing in pain during the recent 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico. And while Barcelona have confirmed that he has been contending with a groin injury, it has now been revealed exactly what issue is blighting Yamal.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, the youngster is suffering from a condition called Pubalgia. The condition causes muscles to converge in the pubic area, causing pain.
Barcelona chiefs reportedly fear that the condition could potentially be chronic, with there being no obvious cause as of now. Luckily, the Spanish side have experience of the condition with club icon Lionel Messi having also suffered from it during his time at the Camp Nou.
Speaking about the issue, Messi said: “Pubalgia is complicated. I suffer from it for a while now, I do little training and I can not play all the games.

“It is not a problem that can be solved overnight. I feel better now, but I still have not recovered and I still need treatment.”
Yamal’s injury is not the only drama that he has been involved in this season. It was previously reported that he had reported late for Barcelona’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain, with Hansi Flick wanting to bench him only to be overruled by club chief Deco.
But those rumours were rejected out of hand by the Barcelona head coach. He said: “The rumour circulating about Lamine arriving late to PSG game is not true, it’s total bulls***. Whoever invented that, he is lying.”
On Yamal, he added: “For me, the most important thing is that when he trains, he tries very hard. He has a good attitude and does it well. He had a few days of celebration because he trained a lot, professionally. I will not meddle in his private life.”
Yamal has so far made eight appearances for Barcelona this season and has scored three times, while providing a further five assists. That form follows a season in which he scored 18 and notched a further 25 assists last season.
Barcelona will be back in action this Sunday as they host Elche. Flick’s side are desperate for a win as they attempt to chase down Real Madrid, who have a five-point advantage at the top of the table.
