Liam Rosenior identifies 'scary' Chelsea quality as hard-line set on playing style
Liam Rosenior has outlined exactly why he's thrilled to take the reins as Chelsea's new manager. The Blues made their appointment official on Tuesday, with the 41-year-old signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2032.
Rosenior's arrival follows Chelsea's decision to part ways with their previous boss, Enzo Maresca, just days earlier. Calum McFarlane has been handling first-team responsibilities at Chelsea following Maresca's exit - firstly guiding the Blues to a 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the weekend.
Rosenior's debut as Chelsea manager will arrive on Saturday in the FA Cup third round tie against League One club, Charlton Athletic, whilst McFarlane will continue to oversee the squad for Wednesday night's Premier League clash with west London rivals Fulham.

Rumours had been swirling that Rosenior would become Chelsea's next manager shortly after Maresca's departure was announced, and now the new Blues boss has revealed what excites him most about the task that lies ahead at Stamford Bridge;
"The potential - I think the potential is scary," Rosenior told Chelsea's club website when quizzed about what he's looking forward to most.
"If you have what we have here in terms of the raw tools, the ingredients, the quality of the players, the age they're at, and in terms of the staff.
Then, in terms of the supporters, when Stamford Bridge is rocking and with the away fans, Chelsea away fans are top. My job is to create an atmosphere where we consistently win. I want to be here for a long time. I know I need to win in the short term, but I need to build for the long term.
"I don't want to single out individual players because every member of that squad is world-class in my eyes; I just want to improve them and I'm really, really looking forward to getting to work with them in these next few days."
Rosenior also shared his vision for Chelsea, drawing on the club's rich history and setting expectations for the current squad. "I come from a club [Strasbourg] where our average age, I think, was 20.8 years, the youngest in Europe," Rosenior said.
"Here, I think we are a little bit older and a little bit wiser but strength in youth is energy, it's application, it's fitness, it's intensity. These are all things I want the fans to see.
"I want us to play high-tempo, aggressive, front-foot football. I want the fans at home to be off their seat in the first 10 minutes and feel like it's wave after wave, because when I played against the likes of [Michael] Essien, [Frank] Lampard, [Didier) Drogba, Arjen Robben, Joe Cole, you felt when you turned up at Stamford Bridge, it was going to be a really difficult day.
"I want to create that feeling here. I want us to be intense, I want us to be brave and fearless, and if we do all of those things, we can have a really good time together."
