Liverpool face awkward Jurgen Klopp situation with Arne Slot exit more and more likely
It could be like going back in time at Anfield this weekend. While there's no Premier League action taking place because of the international break, Liverpool will still be playing at the famous Merseyside stadium, with Borussia Dortmund their opponents.
Granted, it will be a team made up of legends from both teams, but a packed-out Anfield crowd is still expected to make plenty of noise for the charity match. But one of the chants likely to be sung could present Liverpool with a bit of an awkward situation.
The biggest link between the two clubs is obviously Jurgen Klopp. During his time as Dortmund boss, he won the Bundesliga, while taking them to the Champions League final. At Liverpool, his stock as a manager increased tenfold, with Klopp lifting trophies galore in charge of the Reds.
He left the club after nine successful years in 2024 and was given a hero's farewell following his final home match in charge. It's likely that Klopp's chants will be sung on the terraces by the Liverpool fans this weekend, as he plans to return and manage one of the legends teams.

Which could be a little toe-curling for current manager, Arne Slot, who finds himself under an immense amount of pressure following the recent Brighton defeat. As a league-winning manager himself, in normal circumstances, Slot would also be serenaded by the fans at an event like this.
Instead, given the current predicament the Dutchman finds himself in, it's likely all of the positivity will be stored up for Liverpool legend Klopp. Despite having reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Liverpool's domestic performances have left Slot's future in grave danger, with talk of the sack continuing to grow.
What about a Klopp return to the dugout, though? For the first time in a long time, the ex-Dortmund and Liverpool chief hinted at a return to club management, albeit while playing down links to the vacant Real Madrid job at the same time.
When quizzed on the speculation, he said: "If Real Madrid had phoned, we would have heard about it by now. But that's all nonsense. They haven't called even once, not once. My agent is there, you can ask him. They haven't called him either.
"Right now I'm not thinking about that, luckily there's no reason to. For my age I'm quite advanced in life, but as a coach I'm not completely finished. I haven't reached retirement age. Who knows what will happen in the coming years? But there's nothing planned."
