Man Utd handed £43m transfer problem as club chief gives Andre Onana verdict
Manchester United have been informed by Trabzonspor that they won't pay between £40million and £43m for Andre Onana this summer. Onana arrived at Old Trafford from Inter Milan in July 2023 for £43.8m with a potential £3.4m in add-ons based on performance and achievements.
However, a series of inconsistent displays and a run of errors forced United back into the market for a new goalkeeper during the summer.
Senne Lammens ultimately arrived from Royal Antwerp for £18m, and that deal resulted in Onana joining Trabzonspor on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
Whilst Onana has featured 21 times for the Super Lig side so far this season, they have no plans to meet United's asking price of £40m to £43m this summer., reports the Manchester Evening News.

“As the figure from Manchester United for the purchase of Andre Onana is in the range of €45-50m, our president has sincerely informed the community in line with Trabzonspor’s realities,” Trabzonspor vice-president Zeyyat Kafkas told Gunebakıs.

“I don’t think this information affected Onana at all. Because Onana’s thinking is that if it’s not England, he wants to continue at a club in Europe.
“His family thinks the same way. The president also wanted to explain Trabzonspor’s reality. However, if the conditions change, the situation changes.”
It was recently suggested that Onana is determined to fight for his place as United's No. 1 next season and believes he will be given the opportunity to do so.
Trabzonspor's manager, Fatih Tekke, stated that the Cameroon international will make his own choice regarding his future.
He said: “Onana is on loan with us. There have been matches where he didn’t play well. There have also been many matches where he played well.
“I’m very pleased with Onana’s positivity, not only in terms of performance but also in terms of character. You have transferred from one of the best teams in the world and you have experienced problems. He feels very comfortable here.
“The chairman’s words reflect Onana’s own thoughts. But this can sometimes change in a match. He is very happy here, but he will make his own decision about his future.”
