Nandni Sharma Earns Call-Up for ICC Women's T20 World Cup Squad
Nandni Sharma has made quite a splash by earning her first call-up to the national team, she’s been selected for India’s 15-player squad for the upcoming 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in England from June 12 to July 5. This 24-year-old pacer hails from Chandigarh and had an impressive debut season in the Women's Premier League, where she was the joint-highest wicket-taker, snagging 17 wickets while playing for the Delhi Capitals.
The squad also welcomes back wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia and all-rounder Radha Yadav, but there are some notable absences, with Anushka Sharma, Uma Chetry, and Kashvee Gautam not making the cut. This same squad will also compete in a three-match T20I series leading up to the World Cup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the team in Mumbai on Saturday (May 2), and it will be captained by Harmanpreet Kaur.
Harmanpreet, who has been a part of the Indian squad since the very first T20 World Cup, will be leading the team for the fifth time in this global tournament. She was the top scorer for India in the recent series against South Africa.
India’s spin attack is looking stronger with Radha Yadav joining the ranks. The four-spin lineup also features Deepti Sharma, Sree Charani, and Shreyanka Patil, all of whom had a successful outing in the South Africa series.
