Nine in a Row for India, Yet USA Deliver Timely Reality Check
India achieved their ninth consecutive victory in the T20 World Cup which established a new record for the longest unbeaten period that any team has maintained throughout ICC tournament history. The team maintains its winning streak which began with their victory over Ireland in New York and continued through their win against the United States in Mumbai.
Suryakumar Yadav's team achieved their second victory by 29 runs against the United States at Wankhede Stadium which established their performance level with South Africa and Australia. The Men in Blue experienced a moment of unease which lasted until they faced their toughest challenge.
India suffered their first wicket loss when three players got out during the last over of the powerplay in the opening inning. Shadley van Schalkwyk transformed the match by taking out Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube. The team continued to lose ground. India lost their sixth wicket within the following two overs to reach a score of 77/6.
Tension filled the stadium. Yet captain Suryakumar Yadav stood firm at the crease. Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakaravarthy delivered essential assistance to Axar Patel. The three players helped him to reach a successful score of 161 for India. Surya led from the front. His unbeaten 84 proved to be the turning point, transforming a below-par total into a defendable one.
Suryakumar has scored four T20I centuries, but this innings arguably stands as his finest. His performance achieved exceptional levels because of both the match situation and the pressure of his captaincy duties and the tournament's current stage.

Experts had already designated India as tournament favourites before the T20 World Cup began. The team needed this difficult match because it tested their abilities. The team performed below their best standards. The team lost Jasprit Bumrah because of his illness while their batters failed to understand the early game conditions.
The players showed better performance because they had experience playing in Mumbai. Mumbai Indians player Tilak Varma and Mumbai-connected Shivam Dube both wanted to perform better in their games. The batting unit needs to take this match as a warning because one bad performance does not justify severe criticism of his work.
