PCB Announces Pakistan Shaheen Squad for White-ball Series Against England Lions
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed a formidable 16-player squad for their upcoming white-ball series against England Lion which is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi. The series consists of three T20I matches followed by 5 ODI matches. The series will help the young guns to prepare and showcase their talent against a quality opponent.
Before heading to the UAE for this tour, there will be a week-long training camp conducted for Pakistan Shaheens in Karachi, starting from February 11 to 17.
Left-handed batter Shamyl Hussain has been appointed as the captain for this tour, including both ODI and T20I series. Shamyl Hussain has been a standout performer for Pakistan Television (PTV) during the ongoing President’s Trophy Grade-I 2025/26, serving as their captain and primary top-order batter.

Hussain will not be the only standout batter; there are some of the other notable names that have been included are Abdul Samad, Hasan Nawaz, and Saad Khan. Maaz Khan, who was awarded the Player of the Tournament in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars, has also been included to provide much stability in the batting lineup.
The squad also features promising young U19 batter Sameer Minhas, who has been in stellar form recently. He will join his brother Arafat Minhas for this series. The Minhas brothers were outstanding with their performances during the recent Emerging Asia Cup and ICC U19 World Cup campaign for the Pakistan team. Rohail Nazir and Saad Baig will share wicketkeeping responsibilities, adding depth and flexibility to the squad.
The bowling attack features a quality lineup, including Arafat Minhas, Saad Masood, and left-arm wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem as the spinners in the squad. While Ali Raza, Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Mohammad Salman, and Shahid Aziz will be taking care of the pace bowling department.
The three-match T20I series kicks off on Friday, February 20, followed by a five-match ODI series starting on Friday, February 27. Sarfaraz Ahmed will be traveling along with the squad as the team mentor and manager.
