Serious Illness and Family Emergency

Reports say Khanchand Singh, who had been battling liver cancer in the advanced stage, was admitted to the hospital when his condition worsened. He had been on ventilator support as doctors worked to stabilise him. When his health took a turn for the worse earlier this week, Rinku Singh left the T20 World Cup 2026 camp to be with his father and family during this difficult period.

Rinku’s Return to the Indian Team

Rinku had flown home from the team camp in Chennai after learning about his father’s critical condition. He missed team training and urgent matches to attend to family matters, but later rejoined the Indian squad ahead of the crucial Super 8 match against Zimbabwe. Despite his return to the team, he was not included in the playing XI for that game.
