Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal Quietly Update Instagram Bios After Wedding Postponement
Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal have made a subtle move on social media after their much-anticipated wedding, originally set for November 23, was unexpectedly put on hold. Both updated their Instagram bios with a nazar emoji a small symbol often used to ward off negativity following days of speculation and rumours online.
The wedding was postponed due to a medical emergency in the Mandhana family. Smriti’s father, Shriniwas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack and had to be rushed to the hospital. Around the same time, Palash fell ill with severe acidity and a viral infection. He was treated in Sangli before being shifted to SRV Hospital in Goregaon, Mumbai. Doctors declared him fit to go home on November 26.

With no official statement from either side, curiosity online grew quickly. Fans noticed Smriti had deleted all her wedding-related posts, including her engagement photos, sparking discussions across Instagram, Reddit and X. The silence only increased speculation, making the nazar emoji update appear like a quiet message asking for space, privacy and protection from unwanted chatter.
Amid the emotional and medical stress, Smriti has also received strong support from her cricketing circle. Close friend and India teammate Jemimah Rodrigues has chosen to stay back in India instead of returning to represent Brisbane Heat in the Women’s Big Bash League. The club has released her from the remainder of the season so she can be with Smriti during this time.
For now, both families are focused on health and recovery. A new wedding date has not been announced, and the couple seems to be handling the situation with calm and dignity despite the public glare.
