Snooker scores LIVE: Higgins in charge vs Murphy as Mark Allen incident ripped apart

Newspoint

Both World Snooker Championship semi-finals are firmly underway after a thrilling three sessions on Friday at the Crucible.

John Higgins and Shaun Murphy kicked off the day and remained level after another eight frames, though the Scot pulled away in the evening session.

Wu Yize had a commanding lead over Mark Allen but the Northern Irishman fought back superbly. Their afternoon session was clouded by a bizarre incident however, with the reds ending up stuck in the corner which resulted in the frame lasting just over 100 minutes.

BBC commentator Steve Davis called the longest frame in World Snooker Championship history an 'embarrassment' to the sport.
