Ishan Kishan

The acting captain of SRH is in phenomenal form as usual. After a sensational performance in the T20 world cup, he started his IPL with a quick but dangerous 80 off 38 balls against RCB. Leading the team right from the top of the batting order, he is currently the most dangerous weapon in SRH’s arsenal and something KKR should definitely watch out for.

Heinrich Klassen

Known as the ‘spin destroyer’, Klassen's battle against KKR’s mystery spinners will likely be what decides the momentum of the match especially during the middle overs. Interestingly, he has an exceptional record against Varun Chakraborty, striking at over 210 against him. He has also not been dismissed by Sunil Narine in the 8 innings played by Klassen against him.

Ajinkya Rahane

Tonight is a landmark game for the KKR skipper as he becomes the 11th player to reach 200 IPL matches. He looked sharp in the opening match with a solid 67, and his experience will be vital in anchoring the innings on a pitch that rewards tactical shot selection as much as power.

Varun Chakravarthy

Newspoint

After a tough opening at Wankhede(0/48), Chakravarthy returned to the spin friendly homeground of KKR ‘Eden Gardens’. As KKR’s primary bowler, his ability to bounce back and provide breakthroughs will make him a menace for SRH’s aggressive batting lineup.

Abhishek Sharma

Despite a slow start to the season with 7 runs in the opener against RCB, the world’s number 1 ranked T20 batter remains a huge threat and he is looking for a turnaround in Eden Gardens. If he finds his rhythm alongside Travis then SRH can easily get a 220+ score

Honourable mentions:

Finn Allen

The X factor for Kolkata. He is in scary form, having recently smashed a 33 ball hundred at this very venue during the T20 world cup semi finals. In KKR’s opener, he generated a quick 37 off 17 balls. If he survives a few overs then SRH bowlers are in for a long night.

Sunil Narine

While his wicket taking has slowed down now, he is still a major threat as his economy rate is still one of the best and remains his forte. He has not dismissed Klassen in 8 innings and we are anticipating to see whether this streak would be broken and would he reclaim his ‘mystery spinner’ status on pitch.
