Super Bowl halted at critical stage as pitch invader forces NFL star to intervene
Super Bowl LX was brought to a brief halt early in the fourth quarter as a streaker stormed the field of the Levi's Stadium. The bare-chested man made his way onto the grid from the New England Patriots sidelines with an unclarified message written across his front and back, as he took chase from security.
On the field, Patriots wide receiver Kyle Williams was forced to switch offense for defence as he helped close down on the intruder. As a result, play was postponed for a couple of minutes while security escorted the fan out of the stadium.
While NBC refrained from showing the incident on their live broadcast to prevent copycats from following suit, videos did surface online, showing the pitch invader being chased down by a number of security personnel, before Williams brought him down with a gentle nudge in the back.

Play resumed shortly afterward, with the invader seemingly proving as a good luck charm for the Patriots, who managed their first points on the board in the aftermath after a brutal battering at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks.
It's not the first time that a fan has took it upon themselves to make their way onto the grid during a Big Game, with 2024's instalment playing out in similar fashion.
Alex Gonzalez and Sebastian Riviera charged onto the field at the Allegiant Stadium as the Kansas City Chiefs took on the San Francisco 49ers, with the topless duo scribbling their social media handles on their chests prior.
The two only managed a brief stint on the turf before they were reprimanded and marched down the tunnel by security.
Both were taken to the Clark County Detention Centre on misdemeanour charges of prohibited conduct at a sporting event, while custodial records showed charges of grand larceny, assault on a public officer and obstruction.

After being released from the cells, Gonzalez revealed that he had "literally just paid $42,000 (£31,000)to go to jail," before explaining that he had always harboured aspirations of making it onto the field at a Big Game.
He said: "One of my goals has always been to streak the Super Bowl. And I don't want to be that guy, that I'm rich and I'm 50 years old and I'm like, 'Damn, I wish I would've done that when I was younger.' No. I did it now and I'll do it again."
Elsewhere, Yuri Andrade hit headlines when he stormed the pitch during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ win over Chiefs at Super Bowl LV while sporting a pink leotard with Vitaly Zdorovetskiy's adult website adorned on it.
On that occasion, Andrade managed to make it half way across the pitch before he was brought down.
