T20 WC 2026: West Indies Qualify for Super 8 After Dominant 9-Wicket Win Over Nepal
West Indies won the match against Nepal by a dominant margin of nine wickets in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With this win, they have qualified for the Super 8 stage of the tournament, heading closer to their chances of getting their hands on the title.
Nepal batted first and scored 133 for 8 in their 20 overs. The team experienced difficulties at the beginning when they lost several players during the powerplay period. Early losses of Kushal Bhurtel and Rohit Paudel and Aasif Sheikh played a major role in creating problems for the Nepal team.
Dipendra Singh Airee made a great effort in being resilient by accumulating 58 runs from 47 balls during his batting session. He hit three fours and three sixes to make a great effort in creating a new batting partnership. Sompal Kami made a great contribution to the team by accumulating 26 runs from 15 balls without being out. The Nepal team managed to accumulate 133 runs.
The West Indies bowlers succeeded in managing the match through their performances. Jason Holder delivered his best performance by taking four wickets in the game. Matthew Forde and Akeal Hosein and Roston Chase each took one wicket to restrict Nepal's batting performance.
