In a landmark development for women’s golf, Tiger Woods ’ TGL (Tech-Infused Golf League) is set to expand with the introduction of a dedicated WTGL (Women’s TGL), scheduled to launch after the conclusion of the LPGA Tour’s 2026 season. This move marks a significant step towards boosting visibility and fan engagement for top LPGA athletes through a format that combines cutting-edge technology with competitive team golf.

Co-founded by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and sports executive Mike McCarley under parent company TMRW Sports , TGL has already reshaped the modern golf landscape. The indoor, tech-driven league features fast-paced, team-based match play and debuted in 2025 at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Since its launch, TGL has drawn attention for its immersive viewing experience, using giant simulator screens and a hybrid virtual-real playing environment to captivate audiences. This innovative concept is now being extended to women’s golf through the WTGL.

The newly announced Women’s TGL will feature elite LPGA Tour stars competing in a format similar to TGL, including team match play, immersive arenas and a broadcast-friendly presentation. While details regarding the number of teams, player rosters and exact scheduling are yet to be revealed, the league is expected to debut in winter 2026, shortly after the LPGA season concludes. This timing offers players a high-profile platform during the traditional offseason, ensuring year-round competitive golf action for fans.

For the LPGA, this collaboration with TMRW Sports represents a strategic effort to broaden the appeal of women’s golf, elevate player profiles, and attract new fans through entertainment-oriented formats. LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler highlighted WTGL’s potential to “reach new fans and create greater visibility for LPGA athletes,” stressing that the innovative structure will help fans connect more deeply with players while showcasing both their performance and personality.

This venture also taps into broader trends in sports entertainment, where shorter, tech-enhanced formats have succeeded in attracting younger audiences and expanding global reach. The original TGL drew significant viewership and engagement, in part because of its live-mic’d players, strategic team elements, and real-time shot analytics elements that are likely to be embraced in the women’s league as well.

The collaboration between the LPGA and TMRW Sports underscores the growing recognition of women’s golf as a key driver of the sport’s future growth. By complementing the traditional LPGA Tour schedule, WTGL provides players with an additional competitive outlet and offers fans a fresh, compelling narrative. The indoor arena format and team-based competition also open up new sponsorship and media opportunities, potentially leading to increased commercial investment in women’s golf.

TMRW Sports CEO Mike McCarley further emphasised that the league has been designed to “appeal to today’s sports fan” by blending golf’s rich traditions with modern entertainment values such as short-form action, enhanced fan accessibility and greater athlete exposure.

With more details on teams, players and broadcast plans expected in the coming months, anticipation around the Women’s TGL continues to build. The launch of WTGL could redefine the seasonal rhythm of professional women’s golf and significantly broaden the sport’s audience, reinforcing innovation and inclusivity as central pillars of golf’s evolving future.
