Tottenham hit new low as masses of fans leave at half-time after Crystal Palace disaster
Tottenham fans were seen marching out of the stadium at half-time of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace. The north London outfit's crisis went from bad to worse as they suffered a nightmare first half against Palace, sparked by captain Micky ven de Ven seeing red.
The reigning Europa League winners had taken the lead during Thursday night's encounter, with Dominic Solanke converting from close range to give the hosts a welcome lead.
It always felt as if disaster might've been around the corner, but few inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would've been predicting what came next. Van de Ven was given a straight red card after dragging Ismaila Sarr to the ground inside the penalty area, with the ex-Watford ace stepping up to convert the penalty.
With alarm bells now ringing, things began to spiral for the 2019 Champions League finalists, as Jorgen Strand Larsen continued his impressive start to life with Palace by firing the visitors ahead. But before the referee could put an end to Spurs' first-half misery, Sarr was on target again to give the Selhurst Park outfit a 3-1 lead at the break.
