A Sky Sports subscription has just received a substantial price cut as one retailer launches a new 'lowest ever price' offer. The deal in question comes from Virgin Media, which is slashing nearly £100 off its top-tier Sport package.

Usually costing £56.99 monthly, it's now available for £52.99, which Virgin claims is the 'lowest ever price'. This delivers savings of £92 across the 24-month contract and grants access to nine Sky Sports channels, including Main Event, Premier League, F1, Golf and Cricket, alongside the new digital platform Sky Sports+.

The package also includes over 200 standard TV channels and 516Mbps fibre broadband as part of the deal, plus a complimentary Netflix subscription. Virgin is additionally providing new customers with a bill credit worth up to £250 to cover any early termination charges from their existing provider.

Snapping up Virgin's sports package enables customers to sidestep the forthcoming price hikes scheduled to be rolled out by numerous TV and broadband suppliers.

That's because Virgin has already fixed its pricing for this April, with the Sport bundle not set to increase to £56.99 until April 2027.

Other Virgin packages featuring Sky Sports channels include the £64.99 Sport + Cinema packageand £76.99 Max Bolt package, which also feature Sky Cinema, internet speeds reaching 1,130Mbps and additional perks such as an O2 SIM card. Furthermore, Virgin customers can purchase add-ons like TNT Sports (£25) and Premier Sports (£16.99) at reduced prices compared to subscribing directly.

For budget-conscious shoppers, Sky offers comprehensive sports coverage through its £35 Essential TV and Sky Sports package. Whilst the price undercuts Virgin's equivalent offering, Sky delivers roughly 100 fewer channels and doesn't bundle broadband as standard, though subscribers do gain complimentary Netflix and discovery+ membership.

For those opting to remain with Virgin Media's Sport package, the provider has garnered thousands of glowing testimonials on Trustpilot.

One satisfied customer remarked: "Recently installed TV and broadband, everything works great, no complaints, absolutely exceptional."

Another commented: "Virgin have been excellent, haven't had any issues at all. My other half is very happy because he can watch football without any frustrating buffering."

This subscriber provided a more balanced four-star assessment, noting: "A few outages here and there, a bit pricey but overall the fastest connection you can get from a reputable source."

Meanwhile, another five-star testimonial states: "Out of all the providers I've tried, Virgin is the only company that has given me a reliable and fast connection. I was with Sky and had constant issues. I'd recommend Virgin to anyone."
