Trey Yesavage’s performance in Los Angeles left everyone talking. Having given only one run, the teenage right-hander struck out twelve Dodgers hitters and pitched seven innings.

His one mistake came in the third inning, when Enrique Hernandez hit a solo home run. Still, the new guy kept his cool, stayed in control, and showed confidence far over his age.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. called his fellow player's performance a "masterclass."
Early in the game, the Blue Jays' attack supported Yesavage; Davis Schneider hit a home run on the first pitch.

Seconds later, Guerrero hit his eighth home run of the playoffs, tying Shohei Ohtani for the most home runs in this year's postseason. Ernie Clement offered a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning; Toronto added additional runs in the seventh to finish off the victory.

Yesavage's serenity on the hill and Guerrero's direction in the batting order gave the Blue Jays a superb combination of seasoned and youthful players.

Both ESPN and The Guardian applauded the rookie for delivering one of the finest postseason pitching efforts of the year.
