The semi-final between India and England was a thriller. India had elected to bat first and posted 253/7 in their 20 overs. Sanju Samson played an outstanding innings of 89 runs in 42 balls and set the tone. Ishan Kishan scored 39 runs, while Shivam Dube scored a valuable 43. Handy contributions from Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma were also important for India to reach a good total.

In response, England kept the Indian bowlers on their toes throughout their chase. Jacob Bethell starred for the Three Lions with an innings of 105 runs from 48 balls and kept them in the game. Will Jacks also scored 35 runs and quickfire cameos by Jofra Archer brought some late pressure.

However, Indian bowlers held their nerves at the backend of the innings with Jasprit Bumrah delivering a brilliant spell at the death and Hardik Pandya taking 2 wickets. England finished at 246/7 and lost by just 7 runs.
