The star batter practiced for a significant amount of time under the blazing sun and also practiced different types of strokes in the nets. Interestingly, he also practiced with a bowler from Kolkata Knight Riders, alongside his former long-time teammate and coach Abhishek Nayar, who would be the head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming IPL season.

The 36-year-old has been improving his fitness for the past few months, following his decision to retire from Test cricket and will play One Day Internationals and IPL. There have also been reports that he has been shedding weight under his mentor Nayar to extend his career to several years to come.

This could be a significant season for Rohit Sharma as the former Indian skipper is likely to feature in full games instead of being utilized as an Impact Substitute. Rohit Sharma plays only ODI cricket for the Indian national team, and therefore, he has not featured in a match for a while now. The Indian Premier League 2026 season will provide him much-needed match time as he gears up for the 2027 Cricket World Cup in South Africa.
