Despite the blow, Tilak Varma scored a 45-ball century against Gujarat Titans on April 20, marking his maiden IPL hundred and placing him among Mumbai Indians’ fastest centurions. His knock equalled Sanath Jayasuriya’s long-standing 45-ball record for Mumbai Indians. Achieved at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the innings came under pressure as wickets fell around him.

Tilak started slow but finished unbeaten at 101, reaching the milestone with a boundary on the final ball. His 100 included eight fours and seven sixes, striking at 224.44, anchoring Mumbai’s total despite limited support from the middle order.
