Wrexham owner Ryan Reynolds' net worth and divorce statement as new role confirmed
Ryan Reynolds has spent plenty of time in the spotlight since acquiring Wrexham AFC. Now, the actor is poised to embrace yet another fresh challenge as part of his ownership.
Reynolds and 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' star Rob McElhenney fronted a 2021 takeover, since then the Welsh club have enjoyed remarkable success on the field. They have risen from the National League to the Championship and might secure promotion to the Premier League this season, despite losing at home to Hull City on Tuesday.
The 49-year-old has had a very busy life and career since he got his first major credit as a child actor over three decades ago. He has experienced several high-profile romances whilst also growing his personal wealth through some shrewd investments.
Plenty has been written about Reynolds' personal life as well after a high-profile divorce and second marriage. Here's all you need to know about one of British football's most recognisable owners.

Reynolds' net worthEstimates of Reynolds' net worth differ but he is believed to be worth somewhere around £300 million. A substantial portion stems from his acting career, where lucrative roles include Deadpool and Detective Pikachu.
While those roles have proved financially beneficial, it's through business ventures and clever exits that the Canadian-born star has built his fortune. He brought in a reported £200m by selling a stake in telecommunications firm Mint Mobile, with millions more coming his way after drinks business Aviation Gin was sold to Diageo in 2020.
Most recently, Reynolds and McElhenney sold a stake in Wrexham to American investment firm Apollo Sports Capital. The size of the stake hasn't been disclosed publicly so the value of the sale can only be speculated on but recent reports suggested the club is now valued at approximately £350m.
First marriage and divorceThese days, Reynolds enjoys a happy marriage to Blake Lively. The couple tied the knot in 2012 and share four children - James, Inez, Betty and Olin.
However, that wasn't the first time the 49-year-old has been married. He was formerly wed to fellow Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson for over two years with the former couple releasing a statement at the end of 2010 upon deciding to split up.
"After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage," they said in a brief joint statement confirming the divorce. "We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it."
New Wrexham responsibilityEarlier this month, it emerged that Reynolds - alongside co-owner McElhenney - will make his commentary debut on Sky Sports. The duo will join Sky Sports presenter and former footballer David Prutton for a special programme called 'Live from Wrexham with Rob and Ryan'.
The event will centre around the Championship fixture between Wrexham and Swansea City on Friday, with just five points separating the teams before kick-off. "As with our decision to take over Wrexham five years ago, we genuinely have no idea how this is going to go, but we will give it our best," McElhenney and Reynolds said in a joint-statement confirming the event.
"Neither of us have called a sporting event of any variety, let alone a sport we basically learned the rules of five years ago.
"Either way, it will be another unpredictable day at the Racecourse and we can't wait. We're grateful to our partners at the EFL and Sky Sports, the latter of which we hope is ready with the bleep button."
