With countless gadgets, bags, and accessories to keep tabs on, it's easy for things to go missing. For those with an iPhone or iPad, there's a simple solution, Apple AirTags. They're currently on sale at Amazon for 20-25% off, so it's an appealing time to pick some up ahead of the holidays.

AirTags work using Bluetooth, securely transmitting their location to iCloud using other nearby Apple devices, which can then be viewed on a map using the Find My app. Weighing just 11 grams and 32mm in diameter, they're small enough to attach to pretty much anything.

These nifty tech gadgets are super popular for travelling, with many users branding them as 'must-have' items. As one shopper rated them 'vital for travelling' and went on to say that 'everyone needs one of these for their luggage.

As for cost, the AirTags are available from Amazon individually or in multipacks, costing £28 for one (20% off the £35 full price) or £89 for four (25% off the £119 full price). Setting up an AirTag takes a single tap, and there's also a Lost Mode that, once enabled, alerts the user if it's been found.

The AirTags can even be made to play a sound using the built-in speaker - ideal for those who frequently lose their keys five minutes before they need to head out the door. Powered by a CR2032 coin cell battery, each AirTag is also rated IP67 water-resistant, meaning it can withstand being submerged in up to a metre of water for 30 minutes.

One alternative to Apple AirTags is the Tile Mate tracker, available at Argos for £24.99 for a single pack. The device has a loud ring for easy locating, and can be used in reverse to find your phone, even when it's silenced. It's compatible with iOS and Android via the Tile by Life360 app.

Another option for Apple device owners is the GROOV-E My Tag smart trackers, available in a twin pack from Currys for £34.99. These trackers work with the Find My app, are IP67 waterproof and dustproof, and run on a replaceable coin battery.

As part of a longer review, a second noted: "I absolutely love these AirTags - I've since bought more because they work flawlessly with Find My on iPhone. Setup is instant with a single tap, and tracking is incredibly accurate. Whether it's keys, wallet, backpack, or luggage, I always know where my essentials are."

Another buyer was pleased with their purchase, saying: "Wasn't sure what to expect as I've had mixed reviews from friends. However, as far as I'm concerned, it has worked brilliantly so far, and I managed to track my luggage all around Japan every time I forwarded it on. Jolly useful bit of kit. Easy to set up and I've attached to inside of my suitcase."

However, one shopper was less certain of the benefits: "Bought this to track my bike just in case it gets stolen. What I didn't know is that if my bike was stolen, if the thief has an iPhone he will be alerted that an AirTag is moving with him and he can disable it.

"Also, it won't work if said stolen item was placed in an area with bad reception. I hope to never use it but at least good to know that there is a small chance of recovery." Another mentioned the cost: "Good quality. Apple always have good products. Only a bit overpriced."
