The Powerhouse Duo: Graviton4 and Trainium2

Graviton4: A Leap in Performance and Efficiency
The Graviton4 processors, built on the Arm architecture, mark a significant leap in energy efficiency compared to counterparts from Intel or AMD. This fourth-generation chip promises up to 30% better compute performance, 50% more cores, and a whopping 75% increase in memory bandwidth compared to the current Graviton3 processors. David Brown, Vice President of Compute and Networking at AWS, hailed Graviton4 as the most powerful and energy-efficient chip developed by Amazon for a diverse range of workloads.

Trainium2: Redefining AI System Training

Trainium2, the second generation of the Trainium chip, is strategically engineered for training AI systems. With the capability to deliver up to four times faster training than its predecessor, Trainium2 stands out as a game-changer. This chip is set to be deployed in EC2 UltraClusters comprising up to 100,000 chips, facilitating the rapid training of foundation models (FMs) and large language models (LLMs) with unparalleled efficiency, reducing energy consumption by up to 2x.
