ARC Raiders makes huge Expedition change after player backlash
The next optional wipe for ARC Raiders is almost upon us, and developer Embark Studios has implemented some critical changes following feedback from the first time around.
Expeditions are ARC Raider’s answers to wipes, a mechanic in extraction shooters that level the playing field and strip players of their most expensive loot. In games like Escape from Tarkov, this is mandatory for all players, but Embark Studios decided to make Expeditions optional in the spirit of appealing to slightly more casual players.
However, despite having a huge playerbase of over 242,000 daily users on Steam alone, data shows that only 8% of Raiders took part in December’s Expedition, according to PCGamesN.

One reason for why so many players didn’t take part in the wipe is due to the high entry requirements. Players were required to reach a stash value of 5 million Coins, which resulted in plenty of Raiders to horde their best gear instead of using it in the run up to the Expedition date.
It did see some wholesome moments as high-level players donated their unwanted gear to those in need, but it was clearly a pain point for the community as Embark has now lowered the required stash value for February’s wipe.
In a blog post on the ARC Raiders website, Embark confirms that players will now only need a stash value of 3 million credits, with five Skill Points still being awarded for reaching the maximum value.
There’s also a catch-up feature for those who participated in December’s Expedition but didn’t amass enough coins to earn all of the rewards. Those skill points can be purchased for a discounted 300,000 Coins, but only once you’ve purchased all five of the Expedition 2 points first at 600,000 each.
Taking part in an Expedition might wipe your inventory, but there’s a good incentive to go ahead with it anyway. You’ll receive permanent cosmetic rewards to use in the game going forward, as well as upgrades to your stash space and the aforementioned skill points.
Heading off on consecutive Expeditions also rewards players with XP and supply material boosts.
Here are all the rewards you can get for heading off on the second Expedition in ARC Raiders:
Permanent
Cosmetics:
The Patchwork outfit (evolved)
Scrappy cosmetics
The Expedition Indicator icon (upgraded for each expedition completed)
Bonuses:
12→24 Stash spaces
+0-5 Skill Points (+ catch up on missed Skill Points from the first Expedition, so 85 total is possible for those embarking on their second Expedition)
Consecutive
Buffs:
5%→10% XP boost
6%→12% Scrappy materials boost
60%→70% Repair value increase
ARC Raiders players can sign up for the Expedition from February 25 with it setting off on March 1, 2026.
