Newspoint

Gamers looking for a new soulslike to sink their teeth into will no doubt be anticipating the release of Code Vein 2 later this week.

A sequel to the well-received original title from Bandai Namco back in 2019, the latest title stands completely independent and tells a brand new story in the same world. Players are taken on a time-bending adventure where they must travel 100 years into the past to prevent an apocalyptic future from happening.

If you’ve already pre-ordered Code Vein 2, you might already be able to jump in and play. But if not, here’s exactly when you can play:

When can everyone play Code Vein 2?

Code Vein 2 officially launches on January 29, 2026 . It has a global release time of 5pm GMT.

Unfortunately, that means you can’t set your console time zone to New Zealand to get ahead of the curve as the title will launch at the same time across the world.

However, there is a way to play Code Vein 2 right now - if you fork out some additional cash, that is.

Does Code Vein 2 have early access?
Newspoint

Players who pre-purchased the Deluxe or Ultimate edition of Code Vein 2 will be able to play the game three days early. That means right now if you’re reading this.

The Early Access version of Code Vein 2 went live at 11pm GMT on January 26, giving dedicated players a head start on the general release.

Code Vein 2’s Deluxe edition costs an additional £20 on top of the base game, at least on Steam. That might sound a little steep for three days of early access, but there are some other goodies included too.

Deluxe edition owners will also get a custom outfit pack with three different costume sets and a new weapon skin.

An expansion DLC is also included in the price, although there’s no news on when the ‘Mask of Idris’ will launch. Bandai Namco says it will arrive before January 2027.

So, if you want to play Code Vein 2 as early as possible, your options are to either pick up the Deluxe edition or wait until 5pm on January 29.
