Gamers want these 5 launch games for the PS6 — including long-awaited remake
It’s safe to say time is flying as gamers start speculating about what the launch games for the PS6might be.
The PS5is now firmly in the latter half of its life cycle, and naturally, attention is shifting to Sony’s next-generation console.
While the PS6 has yet to be officially announced, discussions are already buzzing about what to expect.
- Battlefield 6 update 1.1.3.5 patch notes, release time and all the big changes
- 2XKO release date countdown - exactly when you can play Riot's fighting game
Rumours suggest a sky-high price of over £600, thanks to rising component costs, and launch timelines point to late 2027, with 2028 now looking more realistic.
That hasn’t stopped players from putting together their ultimate launch line-ups.
Mirror Gaming has compiled a list of five games fans say would make the PlayStation 6 launch truly unforgettable.
BloodborneTop of the wish list is a full remake of Bloodborne, the cult-classic Soulslike that many still consider one of PlayStation’s greatest exclusives.
Fans want the gothic horror masterpiece rebuilt from the ground up with modern visuals, smoother performance and faster load times.
"It has to be a Bloodborne," said a fan on Reddit. "It's an obvious choice. Maybe even a sequel instead, all I know is I need more Bloodborne in my life!"
FromSoftware would be the dream choice, though Bluepoint Games, known for its work on Demon’s Souls, is often tipped to take the reins.
After the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man and its various sequels, gamers are calling for Venom to get his own standalone adventure.
A darker, more aggressive spin-off could take full advantage of PS6 hardware with visceral combat and cinematic storytelling.
One fan posted on Reddit: "Giving Venom his own game would be a genius move, it's all I want."
Insomniac Games is the obvious studio choice, having already laid the groundwork for Venom’s character within its Marvel universe.
Ratchet and ClankYou can’t have a new PlayStation launch without everyone’s favourite duo. A brand-new Ratchet and Clank would be the perfect showcase for PS6 hardware.
Fans are dreaming of even more interdimensional chaos, instant world-switching and Pixar-quality visuals, with one on Reddit saying: "Has to be a new Ratchet and Clank. It seems like they release a new one with each console now, and I wish they could do more."
Insomniac Games has already shown the series can act as a technical showpiece, making it an ideal early PS6 exclusive.
UnchartedAlthough Nathan Drake’s story may be over, fans think Uncharted still has plenty of life — and that the series could shine at the PS6 launch. A new protagonist or spin-off could bring bigger set-pieces, deeper exploration and fresh adventures.
"Perhaps an unrealistic suggestion," admitted one gamer on Reddit, with Naughty Dog primarily focused on its new sci-fi IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Though some suggest a new studio could help push the franchise in bold new directions - Uncharted is definitely something to keep an eye on for sure!
Red Dead Redemption SagaProbably the most out there shout of the lot, a Red Dead Redemption saga rounds out gamers' wish lists.
Fans want a merging of RDR1 and RDR2 into one epic adventure with Undead Nightmare, new content, weapons, outfits and horses.
Enhanced AI, characters, textures and towns, plus adaptive triggers, 4K, ray tracing and 120fps, would bring it to life. One user suggests completing the saga could let players explore the full Red Dead world, including new locations, side missions — and maybe even sail to Guarma.
Whether this happens remains to be seen, with Rockstar still focused on the yet‑to‑be‑released Grand Theft Auto 6 set to launch this November.
