Instagram Stories are a fun and dynamic way to share snapshots of your day with friends, family, and followers. Whether it’s photos, videos, music, polls, or even reposted content, Stories let you creatively express what you’re doing, thinking, or loving at the moment.

On WhatsApp, the closest equivalent feature is Status, which also allows you to share short-lived content that disappears after 24 hours. While WhatsApp Status doesn’t yet support every feature of Instagram Stories, it still helps you stay connected by sharing moments with your contacts.

Thanks to the closer integration between Instagram and WhatsApp, users can now directly cross-post Instagram Stories to WhatsApp Status using a built-in sharing tool. Here’s how you can do it easily:

– Create your Story on Instagram: Add photos, videos, text, filters, stickers, GIFs, music, and more to craft the perfect Story.
– Post the Story: Once published, you’ll notice a WhatsApp icon appear at the bottom of your screen. Tap it, and your Story will be shared directly to WhatsApp. Make sure you’ve linked your Instagram account to your WhatsApp number for seamless sharing.

However, note that this feature is gradually rolling out, so not everyone may see the WhatsApp icon immediately. If it’s not yet available to you, don’t worry — there are alternative methods you can try.

Alternative Methods to Share Instagram Stories to WhatsApp:

Method 1: Share before posting

After creating your Story on Instagram, tap the download icon (a downward arrow) to save it to your device. Then, open WhatsApp, go to the Status tab, tap the camera icon, select the saved photo or video, and post it.

Method 2: Share an already posted Story

If you’ve already posted your Story on Instagram, open it and tap the three-dot menu at the bottom right. Choose ‘Save…’ and select ‘Save Video’ or ‘Save Story’. Next, open WhatsApp, go to the Status tab, and upload the saved content.

By following these steps, you can effortlessly keep your Instagram followers and WhatsApp contacts updated, without needing to recreate your content separately for each platform.
