Instagram has rolled out a brand-new Linked Reel feature, making it easier for creators to connect one reel to another. This update allows users to build multi-part or episodic content, ensuring viewers can seamlessly follow along without scrolling through an entire profile. The feature not only enhances viewer experience but also helps boost creators’ watch time and engagement.

What is Instagram’s Linked Reel Feature?

The Linked Reel option allows creators to link one reel to another, creating a chain of related videos. Whether you are posting a series, tutorials, or storytelling content, this feature makes it simple for audiences to move from one reel to the next without interruption.

How to Link a Reel When Posting a New Reel

  1. Record or upload your video and set it up as a reel.
  2. Add edits, effects, and captions as usual.
  3. On the caption page, tap on “Link a reel.”
  4. Choose the reel you want to connect, and add a title if needed (it defaults to “Linked Reel” if skipped).
  5. Publish your reel – your linked reel will now appear for viewers.

How to Link to an Existing Reel

  1. Open the reel from your profile.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu.
  3. Select “Link a reel” and choose another reel from the list.
  4. Add a title and press OK to save changes.

How to Edit or Remove a Linked Reel

  1. Open the reel and tap the three-dot menu.
  2. Select “Edit linked reel.”
  3. You can:
    • Change the linked reel’s title.
    • Replace the linked reel with a new one.
    • Tap Unlink to completely remove the connection.

Availability of the Feature

The Linked Reel feature is being rolled out gradually as a server-side update. Some users may not see it immediately, and in certain cases, you may need to switch to a creator or professional account to access it.
