Jio Introduces Cardless Cash Withdrawal Through UPI
Jio Payments Bank Limited has rolled out a smart new service that allows customers to withdraw cash using UPI, no ATM card required. Users simply need to scan a QR code and approve the transaction through their UPI app, making the process as easy as making a payment.
How the Service Works
The process is simple and quick. Customers can visit a nearby Business Correspondent (BC) point, scan the QR code provided, and authorize the withdrawal on their UPI app. Once approved, the cash is handed over instantly, no debit card or ATM needed.
Designed for Rural and Small-Town India
This service is available through the bank’s BC network, making it especially useful for people in rural and small towns. While many users in these areas have adopted digital payments, access to ATMs and banking services is still limited. This initiative bridges that gap by bringing banking closer to them.
Making Cash Access Easier and Safer
By eliminating the need for cards and ATMs, the new feature simplifies cash withdrawals and enhances safety. It also reduces dependency on physical banking infrastructure, offering a more accessible option for everyday users.
Boosting Digital Payments and Financial Inclusion
Founded in 2016 with approval from the Reserve Bank of India, Jio Payments Bank aims to make digital banking simple and widespread. This latest move connects digital transactions with cash needs, helping first-time users gain confidence in UPI.
Reaching the Unbanked Population
With the help of its last-mile BC network, the bank is extending services to remote areas. This initiative is expected to bring unbanked individuals into the financial system, strengthening financial inclusion across the country.
A Step Towards a Hybrid Financial Future
This cardless withdrawal feature blends the convenience of digital payments with the continued need for cash. By expanding UPI access to cash-dependent users, Jio Payments Bank is taking a significant step toward a more inclusive and accessible banking ecosystem.
