A new update has arrived for Mario Kart World on the Nintendo Switch 2 — and it's available to download right now.

It’s set to bring a raft of improvements and tweaks to enhance the gaming experience, making it the latest in a string of Nintendo titles patched this week.

Donkey Kong Bananza received a similar boost with version 3.1.0 adding Polish language support, and a number of fixes for various problems that plagued players.

Follow this step-by-step guide on how to update the game today:

  • Power on your Switch 2 and make sure it’s connected to the internet
  • From the HOME Menu, highlight Mario Kart World (don’t start the game)
  • Press the '+' or '–' button on your Joy‑Con to open the Options menu.
  • Scroll down and select 'Software Update'
  • Choose 'Via the Internet'
  • The system will check for the latest patch. If the update is available, it will start downloading automatically
  • Once the download finishes, launch the game, and the update will install before you play
