Nacon Revolution X Unlimited Anniversary Edition design and featuresIt's not just the colour scheme and design that'll have you smiling, you'll also have the edge over your opponents that have to make do with standard Xbox or PC controllers, thanks to the Revolution X Unlimited Anniversary controller having the same killer features as the standard Nacon Revolution X. We're talking adjustable triggers, micro-switch buttons, enhanced vibrations, hall effect joysticks and, last but not least, a integrated LCD touchscreen that allows you to customise your controller settings on the fly.
But, without doubt, the best thing about this controller is the fantastic colour scheme, with the off-white main colour, grey grips and joysticks, and RGB (that can be turned green), making it an Xbox lover's dream controller. But it's not just that, because on the screen itself, the menu features the iconic Xbox 360 Blades dashboard, which is a lovely touch, especially for those who grew up with the console.
You also get a charging dock in the box, as well as three sets of weights, six joystick heads, 2 d-pads and four rings, plus a really nice hard carrying case, to chuck everything into when you need to take it somewhere. Plus, you get six extra programmable buttons, with four where your pinky rests on the back of the grips, and two on the top of the controller.
Like the standard version, you get connectivity across Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Android, and you can connect two devices at once via 2.4 GHz (with the included dongle), Bluetooth, or a wired connection, with around 10 hours of battery life.
Nacon Revolution X Unlimited Anniversary Edition design and features: 5/5
I'm pleased to report that, unsurprisingly, despite the new Xbox-focused colour scheme, it still offers superb performance. The micro-switch buttons are super satisfying and instant, while the hall-effect joysticks and adjustable triggers mean it performs well in FPS games like Marathonand Warzone, as well as driving games like F1 25, and open-world RPGs like Crimson Desert.
For me, the best and most unique feature of this product is the LCD display, and the way you can customise the controller in extremely intricate ways on the fly, something very few other controllers offer. It's very comfortable, and is easy to hold for long periods, but the battery life of only 10 hours is pretty poor, which is my only gripe really, although that's a tradeoff I'm comfortable with considering the screen on the front!
Nacon Revolution X Unlimited Anniversary Edition performance: 4/5
One of the very best things about the Nacon Revolution X Unlimited Anniversary Edition is the price, which is exactly the same as the standard Revolution X Unlimited, at £179.90 / $237 (approx conversion). When it comes to colour editions, especially with big brands, you often have to pay a premium, so the fact it's the same price is really compelling, if you're a fan of Xbox, that is!
Compared to other premium controllers, it's slightly above the price point of Xbox's Elite Series 2 (which doesn't have a screen or hall effect joysticks), but it is slightly cheaper than Razer's Wolverine V3 Pro (£199.99 / $199.99 / AU$349.95), while it's very similar to the Scuf Valor Pro (£179.99 / $189.99), so it's at a pretty competitive price point, considering it's feature set and unique colour scheme.
Nacon Revolution X Unlimited Anniversary Edition value for money: 4.5/5
With the Anniversary Edition, Nacon has taken the already excellent X Unlimited and given it a superb, nostalgia-focused makeover that makes me smile every time I look at it. It brings back so many memories of playing on the Xbox 360 console as a child, something not many other products can match.
I absolutely love this controller, but I appreciate that the colour scheme might not be for everyone. The good news is, this controller is one of the best premium Xbox controllers around, and it's also available in black for those who want a more neutral colour. But, for me, this is one of the best-looking premium Xbox controllers on the market, and the fact that it's the same price as the black one, getting this instead is, in my opinion, a no-brainer!
