According to a report by TechCrunch, the company has brought in outside cybersecurity professionals to help manage the situation but Hasbro’s filing noted it was still working to “implement measures to secure its business operations”. This may mean that the hackers may not yet have been fully removed from its systems.
Moreover, the specific nature of the attack: whether it is ransomware, data theft or something else: has not been confirmed yet.
When it comes to data stealing, Hasbro says its investigation is still ongoing to determine the full scope of the breach, and it could not immediately confirm whether any sensitive data had been accessed or taken. Meanwhile, company spokesperson Andrea Snyder told the publication that Hasbro had “taken swift action to protect our systems and data”.
The company also noted that it has rolled out business continuity plans , allowing it to take orders, ship products and carry out other key operations while the situation is resolved. However, Hasbro warned of delays, with the company estimating it could take “several weeks before the situation is fully resolved.”
