SIM Card Fraud: How To Check Mobile Numbers Linked To Your Name Using Sanchar Saathi

As SIM card fraud cases continue to rise, the risk of your Aadhaar being misused to activate mobile numbers without your knowledge is real. In response, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has rolled out a user-friendly feature on its Sanchar Saathi portal under the TAFCOP framework. This government-backed tool allows citizens to verify how many mobile connections are linked to their identity in just a few clicks.


Under Indian telecom regulations, an individual is allowed to have a maximum of nine active SIM cards linked to a single Aadhaar number. In sensitive regions such as Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, and the North East, the limit is capped at six.
