X (Twitter) Down in India: Users Report Major Loading Issues on Web Version

Newspoint
In India, a growing number of users have reported persistent glitches while accessing X (formerly Twitter), with many unable to view timelines, load posts, or perform basic actions on the platform. The issue appears prominent on the web version of X, where the interface loads partially but most interactive elements—including feeds, notifications, and trending sections—fail to display. A screenshot shared by users shows repeated “Something went wrong. Try reloading.” messages, accompanied by non-functional sections across the homepage.

The disruptions began appearing today and have continued intermittently across several regions. While the mobile app has remained comparatively stable for some users, the desktop version seems to be severely impacted. Many reported that even after multiple reload attempts and switching networks, the website continues to show blank panels, broken feeds, and disabled action buttons such as “Post”, “Explore”, and “Messages”.

For users relying on X for news, communication, and work-related updates, the sudden glitch has caused significant inconvenience. India is one of X’s largest user bases, with millions depending on the platform not only for social updates but also for breaking news, political discourse, and business communication. Users have taken to other platforms—including Instagram, Threads, and even older networks—to discuss the issue.

Technologists observing the outage suggest that the problem may stem from server-side issues within X’s content delivery infrastructure. The symptom pattern—where the frame loads but content fails—often indicates a backend connectivity or API response failure. Some cybersecurity experts have added that when a global platform faces regional outages of this form, the root cause may lie in cached data errors, a faulty update roll-out, or regional routing disruptions.

Interestingly, the affected screenshot shows that although the left-hand navigation bar loads, the main feed remains blank, and the right-hand recommendation modules also fail to fetch data. The system attempts to reload but eventually displays a “Retry” option without success. Users report that logging out and re-entering the platform makes no difference, and in some cases, X refuses to show even the user profile picture or notifications.

While X Corp. has not issued an official statement at the time of reporting, such outages have occurred previously in multiple countries following internal updates or heavy server load. With frequent structural and algorithmic changes introduced under the platform’s new leadership, temporary glitches have become more common. However, Indian users note that the current issue appears unusually widespread.

Digital analysts point out that India’s internet ecosystem is extremely sensitive to disruptions on major platforms due to the vast number of content creators, media houses, and independent journalists who use X as their primary communication hub. A prolonged outage could disrupt news cycles, influencer activity, and even small businesses that promote services via the platform.

Users are currently adopting temporary workarounds, such as accessing X through different browsers or using VPN services, although none of these solutions appear consistently effective. Some users report slight improvements after clearing cache or using incognito mode, but most continue to face the same blacked-out interface.

As the day progresses, Indian users await clarity from X Corp. on what triggered the issue and when full functionality will return. With the platform playing a crucial role in India’s digital dialogue, a swift resolution is expected to restore normalcy for millions who rely on X as a daily communication tool.
